Frequently asked questions.

How long of a processing time should I expect for made to order products?

Every item has a little bit different processing time that will also depend on how many orders I Currently have. I will have an estimate for each item in their listing but if you have time constraints or any concerns please feel free to send me an email or a DM on instagram before your order and so I can make sure it’s possible for me to accommodate you.

Why such a long processing time?

Every single piece is made by hand by me, on top of that I do all my own graphic design, shipping and social media, with some help from my lovely partner. I still try to get your products made and shipped as quickly as I can! but as stated before, please don’t be afraid to reach out if you have any questions or concerns!

Do you take commissions?

yes I do! see the services tab for more information.

Do you offer repairs?

I offer free repairs for customs and commissions. If anything happens to a piece I’ve created for you please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via my email(feywildmailingpost@gmail.com) or instagram DM’s(@feywildtradingpost)

How is your leather sourced?

My products are made from 2-5 oz vegetable tanned leather. Meaning the leather is tanned using oak bark, olive leaves, rhubarb roots, coffee bean shells etc. making it tanned with vegetables.

All my hide is sourced from Tandy leather supply and Weaver leather supply currently but I’m in the works to source leather from meat farms local to me in Colorado to make my items as sustainable as possible.

will you ever offer products using faux or ‘vegan’ leather?

In short, no.

while I understand and respect the lifestyle choices of everyone, I will not be offering faux, vegan, or ‘pleather’ options for a few reasons.

The first being that most widely available “vegan” leathers are made of plastic and the top polyurethane layer will flake off with regular use, being able to last you maybe a few months of regular use. I value sustainability heavily and never want to contribute to fast fashion. Another reason being cactus leather, cork leather and other alternatives are extremely hard to source affordably in large quantities and usually react in a similar way to most ‘pleather’ because of their polyurethane coating.

Leather is a byproduct of the meat industry and in effort to avoid wasting the body of an animal I believe using natural leather is a beautiful way to continue this centuries old practice.
